Obituary of Audrey Marie DeWitt

Audrey Marie DeWitt,

71, of Terra Alta, passed away Monday June 11, 2018 at Garrett Regional Medical Center in Oakland, MD. She was the oldest daughter and oldest child of eight children born to Audrey M. Landis of VA and the late Leroy Thomas Gray, Sr. She was born January 28, 1947 in Virginia.

Audrey retired from Hopemont Hospital. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by two sons, William DeWitt and wife Shirley, whom she calls daughter and who took care of her daily needs, and Danny DeWitt, all of Terra Alta and Dannys fiancé, Shelly Shay of Rowlesburg; five grandchildren whom she loved very much, Kenny DeWitt, Ashley DeWitt, Hannah Rose DeWitt, Dani-Lynne DeWitt and Brentley DeWitt; four sisters, Pearl (Ron) DeVries, Barbara (Roy) Greenwalt, Roberta (Robert) Spencer, Laurie (Ronald) Lewis; three brothers, Leroy Gray, Howard Gray, and James (Linda) Gray and many nieces and nephews and lots of kids in Terra Alta whom considered her "Mom".

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth DeWitt on May 2, 2003; and her loving son, Brian DeWitt on June 18, 2009.

Family and friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8. The funeral service will be Friday, June 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles May officiating. Burial will follow in the Terra Alta Cemetery.
