Obituary of Edna Falkner

Edna Pearl Falkner, 65, of Terra Alta died Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, WV, with family by her side. The daughter of the late Woodrow W. and Rosella Mae Stark Thomas, she was born November 24, 1951 in Bruceton Mills, WV. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. She loved God and attended Apostolics of Oakland where she was a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed flowers and wind chimes. She is survived by her husband, Douglas A. Falkner; three daughters, Tina and husband Ken Sumpter of Stanley, VA, Heidi Falkner and Patricia Falkner, both of Terra Alta; two sons, Donald and wife Maranda Smith of New Castle, DE and Douglas W. Falkner of Terra Alta; two brothers, James Thomas of TN and Harry Thomas of PA; three sisters, Lavina Fike of PA, Judy Smith of WV and Beatrice Miller of MD; five grandchildren, Kenneth and Candas Sumpter, Skylar Sharps and Carley and Abbey Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Fike and a grandson, Peyton Smith. Family and friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 and at the Apostolics of Oakland Church, Oakland, MD from 10:00 a.m. on Monday March 27, 2017 until the 11:00 a.m. time of service with Pastor Phillips officiating.
