Obituary of Betty Louise Myers

Betty Louise (Spiker) Myers, 86, of Terra Alta, peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Oakland, MD.

She was born August 23, 1938, in Oakland, MD, a daughter of the late Floyd and Minnie (Lewis) Spiker.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She never worked outside of the home much but loved taking care of the grandchildren. Her yard was always full of the neighborhood kids.

She is survived by one son, John Myers and wife Beth; a sister, Susan Metheny and husband Leon all of Terra Alta; a brother, Blaine Teets of Oakland, MD; a daughter-in-law, Tara Myers of Terra Alta; two sisters-in-law, Bobbie Myers of Oakland, MD and Dixie Fields of Hampton, VA; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley "Sally" Myers on December 10, 2008; two sons, Don in 2012 and Jim in 2022; a brother, Donald Spiker and her stepfather, Harold Teets.

Friends may call at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 2 pm until the 4 pm time of service with Pastor Brian Coffman officiating. To honor Betty's wishes, she will then be cremated.
