Obituary of Connie Lucille McFarland

"Ma" Connie Lucille McFarland, 79, of Terra Alta, WV, passed away Saturday November 30, 2024, at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, WV. She was born June 13, 1945, in Bucyrus, OH, a daughter of the late Chester Eugene Graham and Lucille Alita (Grasley) Graham. Ma held the most important job as a homemaker and taking care of the family farm. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years. Ma loved to spend time with family and friends, often cooking, making sure their bellies were full, sitting around having drinks and talking. Ma had a green thumb and was an avid gardener. She appreciated wildlife and would watch deer and birds as often as she could. Ma is survived by her son, Jerry Allen McFarland and fiancé, Amanda Powell; daughter, Lisa Kay McFarland; one grandchild, Zane Allen McFarland and fiancé, Myranda Speakman; two step-grandchildren, Desiree Fultz and Hannah Fultz; two great grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Graham; sister, Marie Albright; stepsister, Katie Cocher and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ma is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Allan McFarland, Sr. and sister, Barb Hancock. Friends may call at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta, WV, on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 1:00 pm with Pastor Sam Moon officiating. Interment will follow in the Terra Alta Cemetery.
