Obituary of Shirley Yvonne Ackerman

Shirley Yvonne (Kisner) Ackerman, 65, of Terra Alta, WV, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. She was born February 3, 1959, in Cumberland, MD, the daughter of the late Bob Kisner and Norma Jean Kisner. Shirley worked as a nurse's aide at Dennett Road Manor Nursing home and Cuppett and Weeks Nursing Home, both located in Oakland, MD. She enjoyed baking cookies and pies. Shirley loved being with her family, friends, and of course her dogs and birds. Shirley is survived by her husband, Ernest Zachary Ackerman; son, Tony Lynn Fike; grandchild, Logan Tyler Fike; brother, Bob Kisner, Jr. and girlfriend, Kathy; sister, Brenda Nobles and husband, Frankie; a special friend whom she considered a sister, Leigh Ann Jamison; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Shirley to the Arthur H Wright Funeral Home, 105 Highland Ave., Terra Alta, WV 26764, to help the family with funeral expenses. Friends may call at the Arthur H Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta, WV, on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm time of service with Pastors Ivan and Cindy Ackerman officiating.
