Obituary of Grant William Felton Sr
Grant W. Felton, Sr., 75, of Terra Alta, WV (Corinth Community), went to his heavenly home on the morning of Wednesday, August 28, 2024, with his loving wife of 52 years and his daughter by his side.
He was born on July 3, 1949, at his home place in Corinth, WV, a son of the late Clarence W. and Mary E. (Steltzner) Felton.
Grant proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW Post #578 and American Legion Post 71. Grant was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt, fish, and trap. When asked where he was going, he always said "I'm going to the woods!"
On December 31, 1971, he married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Patricia "Patti" A. (Lowdermilk) Felton. Together they built an amazing life and showed everyone around them what "True Love" really looked like. They had two amazing children together.
Grant is survived by his wife, Patti; daughter, Kelly C. Fike and husband, Brian; his son's widow, Heidi Felton Sharpless of Point Marion, PA; seven grandchildren, Aaron (Victoria), Tehya (Cole), Tyra (Jakson), Whitney (Andy), Jacob (Morgan), Briar (Taylor), and Levi; two older sisters, Carolyn Harless of Rock, WV, and Donna Adkins of Princeton, WV; two younger brothers, Eddie Felton of Lakeland, FL, and Warren Felton and wife, Kathy of Terra Alta; his favorite hunting and fishing buddy, Charlie Moore and his wife, Alice; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Grant is preceded in death by his son, Grant W. Felton, Jr.; a niece, Cheri Harless; brother-in-laws, Larry Adkins and William Harless; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Felton; and camping buddy, Gary Glover.
The Arthur H Wright Funeral Home is honored to assist Grant's family at this time. To honor his wishes, Grant will be cremated. A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at the Whitedale Church, Terra Alta, WV, on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 11:00 until the 12:00 pm time of service. A dinner will be held at the Terra Alta Ambulance Building after the service.
