Obituary of Kenneth Blaine Groves

Kenneth "Kenny" B. Groves, 67, of Terra Alta, WV, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at his home.

He was born March 12, 1957, in Terra Alta, WV, a son of the late Wilfred Blaine Groves and Mona Lee (Crowder) Groves.

Kenny loved to buy and sell junk. He also enjoyed hunting and as a pastime, sit in his truck and people watch.

Kenny is survived by two sons, Danny B. Groves and wife, Jolene of Terra Alta and Herman C. Coen, Jr. of Chicago, IL; three daughters, Frances E. Pritt of Terra Alta, Lori J. Uphold and husband, Rodney of Oakland, and Dodi L. Harrison of Terra Alta; 15 grandchildren, Amber, Autumn, Zach, Bethany, Keneesha, Marli, Brandy, Patrick, Matthew, Steven, Savannah, Ethan, Zach, Hannah, and Jasmine; 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas Groves and wife, Debbie of Friendsville, MD, and Larry Groves of Glen Burnie, MD; sister, Mary Catherine Prout of Pine Grove, WV; special niece, Misty Davis and special dog, Ivy Doodle.

In addition to his parents, Kenny is preceded in death by his wife of almost 46 years, Ruth Ann Groves; daughter, Ruby Coen; grandson, Ryan White; two brothers, Joseph Groves and William Groves, and sister, Elizabeth Koontz Morris.

Friends may call at the Arthur H Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta, WV, on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 11-1 and 4-6 pm. A funeral service will be held after the 6:00 pm viewing with Pastor Stanley Waybright officiating. To honor his wishes, after services are completed, Kenny will be cremated.
