Obituary of Paul Alan Pritt

Paul A. "Moe" Pritt,

 

54, of Terra Alta, passed away unexpectedly on Monday May 13, 2024 at Ruby Memorial Hospital with family by his side.

The youngest son of the late Robert D. and Billie Pritt Cline, he was born May 8, 1970, at Fort Walton Beach, FL.

Moe was a graduate of East Preston High School, class of 1988. He then graduated from Fairmont State University in 1992. He worked for the Sheriff's Department for over 30 years and was the current Sheriff of Preston County. He was a member of Terra Alta Masonic Lodge #106 A.F. and A.M., a member of Scottish Rite, and the Osiris Shrine.

He loved westerns, hunting, baseball, being a family man, a good novel, coaching softball and helping those in need. He will be greatly missed by many, and our community will never be the same.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Melissa Stanton Pritt; three daughters, Ali (Matthew) Clemens of Ft Meade, MD, Ashli Pritt and Chad Howdershelt, and Emily Pritt and Gage Peters, all of Fairmont; his siblings, John (Loree) Pritt, Charlie (Cheryl) Cline, Jane Lynn (Robert Chilton) Cline, Jon Ellen Cline, Katherine (James) Everly, Margaret Martin and; many nieces and nephews and a community of great friends and supporters.

To honor his wishes, there will be no public services. Cremation services have been entrusted to Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta. There will be a memorial service scheduled at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital through Osiris Shrine, PO Box 2048, Wheeling, WV 26003.
