Obituary of Bernard Allen Ball

Bernard A. Ball,

     81 of Aurora, died Thursday September 14, 2023, at Ruby Memorial with family by his side.

     The son of the late Leon Ivan and Genevieve White Ball, he was born November 14, 1941, in Horse Shoe Run.

     He was a loving husband, father, and Papaw.  He was a good friend to many and the best husband ever.    He was a dairy farmer, entrepreneur of two gas convenience stores and sold machinery.  Bernard loved the WVU Mountaineers, Pirates and the Steelers.    He was member of the Texas Bethel Methodist Church.   

     He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carolyn Ball; a son and spouse, Mark (Sheri) Ball of Terra Alta; two daughters and spouses, LaDonna (Tom) Stem of Oakland and Stacey (Mike) Rocha of Aurora; grandsons, Ryan (Chelsey) Rocha, Jeffrey (Alexis) Stem and Sean (Logan) Ball; granddaughters, Mariah Stem, Haley Rocha, Ashley (Zach) McCullough, Morgan Ridenour and Brittany (Jalin) Dixon; great grandsons, Brantley Ball, Lucas Rocha, Beau Rocha and Colt Ball; great granddaughters, Mailynne Ball, Hazelyn Ridenour, Sloane Stem; two sisters, Byrldene White of Columbus, OH and Bernadette Lipscomb of Oakland, MD.

     Family and friends will be received at the Aurora Memorial Building on Monday from 4-8:00 p.m. and at the Texas Bethel United Methodist Church from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday September 19, 2023 until the 11:00 a.m. time of service with Rev. J. Michael Lantz officiating.  Burial to follow in the Texas Cemetery.
