Obituary of Larry Dean DeWitt

Larry Dean DeWitt, 56, of Palmyra, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side on September 6, 2023, at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA.

The son of the late Larry Carlton and Ruth Carol Syruws DeWitt, he was born March 12, 1967 in Baltimore, MD.

He went to high school at Edgewood High School and graduated in 1985. He went on to work in sales for several garage door companies. He enjoyed learning about history by visiting the battlefields at Gettysburg locally. He was also very interested in the Band of Brothers and always dreamed of doing the Band of Brothers Tour in Germany and France. Dean also enjoyed woodworking, log cabins, the outdoors and a bushel of steamed crabs.

Dean is survived by his wife of 36 years, Tammy of Palmyra, his son Christopher, husband of Jennifer DeWitt, his daughter Kayla, wife of Allen Imhoff, his grandson Owen Imhoff whom he loved and adored beyond measure, Dean’s brother Scott DeWitt, and sister Sherri DeWitt. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Branch Imhoff.

Family and friends will be received at the Arthur H Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta, West Virginia from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, until the 11:00 am time of service with Pastor Sam Moon officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, in Terra Alta, West Virginia.
