Obituary of Gary Lee Stemple

Gary Lee Stemple, Sr., 75, of Terra Alta went to be with the Lord on Wednesday February 15, 2023 at home with family by his side. The son of the late Alfred Lee and Elizabeth Catherine Waybright Stemple, he was born January 20, 1948, in Eglon. Gary retired from Hopemont Hospital after 35 years of employment. He was a loving husband, father, and brother. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Vickie Stemple; stepdaughter Nicole (and husband, Jon) Lewis of Philippi; a son, Gary Stemple Jr. of Washington, DC; two brothers, David (and wife, Debbie) Stemple of St. George and Jim (and wife, Delores) Stemple of Rowlesburg; three sisters, Katherine (and husband, Charlie) Brown of Mt. Nebo, and Ruth (and husband, Ralph) Slaubaugh and Judy (and husband, Stephen) Hughes, all of Aurora; three step grandchildren, Skyler and Sebastian Zinchook and Bailee Lewis, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Stemple. Family and friends will be received at the Hillcrest Chapel, Terra Alta from 11:00 a.m. on Saturday February 18, 2023, until the 1:00 p.m. time of service with Barry Kirk officiating.
