Obituary of Roy Junior Sines

Roy Junior "Sonny" Sines, 82 of Terra Alta passed away on Tuesday January 31, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. The son of the late Arthur R. and Dortha L. Freeland Sines, he was born May 18, 1940 in Terra Alta. Sonny served four years in the U. S. Army. He was a timber cutter and woodsman. He started working at the Department of Highway in 1971 and retired as the foreman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, cutting wood and going to the stockyard. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wanda L. Sines; children, Crystal (Randy) Shaffer, Roy "J.R." (Linette) Sines all of Terra Alta, Kimberly (David) Hoover of Albright, Jason (Holly) Sines and Emily Sines (Julio) all of Terra Alta; 14 grandchildren, Jack (Katelyn), Robbie (Leah), Lakin (Anthony), Katelyn (Chris), Alyssa (Trevor), Carsynn, Cheyenne (Patrick), Steven, Hunter, Garret, Bryson, Dakota, Austin and Naihomy; five great grandchildren, Corban, Carter, Harper, Greer and Olivia; two brothers, Teddy (Genell) Sines of Grafton and Tommy (Janie) Sines of Terra Alta; one sister, Patricia (Terry) Cramer of Terra Alta and a brother-in-law, Larry Hall of Terra Alta; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Karen Dalton, Judy Hall and Peggy Everly. Family and friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta on Thursday from 4-8:00 p.m. and from 11:00 on Friday February 3, 2023 until the 12:00 noon time of service with Pastor Jeff Anderson officiating.
