Obituary of Verna Mae Pifer

Verna Mae Teter Pifer,

59 of Terra Alta, died unexpectedly on Saturday January 28, 2023 at her home. The daughter of the late Floyd E. Teter, Sr. and Mary Lee (Tasker) Teter, she was born June 20, 1963, in Morgantown.

Verna Mae was a graduate of East Preston High School, Class of 1982.

She is survived by her son, Samuel "Sammy" A. Pifer II, and wife Iva along with two grandsons, Travis "Bub" and Robert "Wee" Pifer; a sister, Cheryl A. Sypolt and family; brothers, Floyd E. Teter, Jr., and wife Karron and family and Robert "Rob" M. Teter and wife Odette "Odie" and family, all of Terra Alta; several nephew's, nieces and cousins and several great nephews and great nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Samuel A. Pifer on September 30, 2021.

A memorial service will be held Sunday February 26, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Terra Alta Ambulance Building.
