Obituary of James Scott Sisler

James Scott Sisler, 85, of Aurora, passed away Monday December 12, 2016 at his residence. He was born April 9, 1931 in Morgantown, a son of the late James Dailey Sisler and Ernestine (Stemple) Sisler. Scott was a life-long farmer, who raised Angus cattle on his scenic farmland in Amboy and Aurora, and worked in logging for many years. He was very active in his children's 4 H and FFA clubs. Some of his favorite past times were square dancing with his beloved wife, traveling to the Midwest, attending local festivals, hunting, taking scenic road trips, and going to cattle auctions. He was also a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aurora. He was a devoted family man who delighted in having Sunday lunch with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Gloria Dean (Hauser) Sisler; six children, Donetta Sisler, Michael Sisler and wife June, Jana Freeman and husband Ronald, Tamara Sisler, Cara Radford and husband Derrick, and Shauna Perrine and husband Paul; ten grandchildren, Michael Sisler II, Shawn Sisler and wife Becca, Michelle Zinn and husband Anthony, Skylar Swain and husband Tom, Dane Nice and wife Erica, Mariah Clement and husband Damien, Cody Fauber, Jazzy Freeman, Dylan Radford and Mikail Perrine and wife Alycia; eight great-grandchildren; Alexis, Alyssa, and Aydin Nice; Sophie and Myla Zinn; Violet Sisler; Ryland Swain; and Isla Clement. He is also survived by two sisters, Phyllis Vandevender and husband Terry, Linda Terrant, and numerous nieces and nephew. Friends may call at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aurora on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the church on Thursday, December 15, 2016 with Pastor Sonny McNear officiating.
