Obituary of Samuel Alfred Pifer

Samuel Alfred "Sam" Pifer, 65, a longtime resident of Terra Alta, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 30, 2021, at home. The son of the late Junior "Jeff" and Eileen W. Kelly Pifer, he was born March 24, 1956, in Morgantown. He was Southern Baptist. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Verna Mae Teter Pifer; a son and spouse, Samuel "Sammy" A. Pifer II and Iva; two grandsons, Travis and Robert Pifer; brothers-in-law, Robert (Odette) Teter and Floyd "Ed" Teter and family; sister-in-law, Cheryl Sypolt and family; aunt Eva Jean (Chester) Cramer and family and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles and his best friend, Jeff Sines. In leu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home to assist with funeral cost. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Pifer residence, 266 Cranesville Road, Terra Alta.
