Obituary of Brenda Lee Teets

Brenda Lee Teets, 62, of Arthurdale, died Saturday July 31, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. The daughter of the late William W. Frankhouser and Janet W. (Bill) Reckart Phillips, she was born November 6, 1958, in Morgantown. She attended First United Methodist Church in Terra Alta. She graduated from Terra Alta High School in the class of 1977. Brenda loved animals, especially dogs. She was an honorary member of the U.S. Army Family Readiness Group where she was cherished by countless Soldiers and their families. She was generous, loving and giving to her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and caregiver. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Tom Teets; two sons, Thomas (Lyndsey) Teets of Bridgeport and Travis Dean Teets of Terra Alta; her bonus daughter, Angie Liston of Morgantown; sister, Kim (Joe) Powell of Accident, MD; mother-in-law, Joan Teets of Terra Alta; and grandchildren, Treyton Teets, and Ava and Ella Liston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Kermit Teets and grandparents, Willard and Anna Lee Reckart and Wade and Hazel Frankhouser. A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, August 6, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church, Terra Alta at 1:00 p.m. with Jim Teets officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Terra Alta Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Preston County Animal Shelter, 278 Poor Farm Road, Kingwood, WV 26537.
