Mary Bolyard

Obituary of Mary Virginia Bolyard

Mary Virginia Bolyard,

beloved wife, mother and grandmother, age 95 passed away peacefully on May 26, 2021 at Stonerise in Kingwood, WV.

Mary was born in Rowlesburg, WV on May 23, 1926 to Hendricks Cleveland and Vesta Odas (Knotts) Waybright and was raised by her maternal grandparents, William and Virginia Knotts after the passing of her mother.

She lived full life and had many hobbies and adventures. She traveled around the country and to Canada as an avid hunter. She had quite a menagerie of deer, fish, and bear and was even featured on the brochure of her favorite hunting camp. She won awards for her painted quilts. Other hobbies included bee keeping and crafting wooden toys, but her most talked about hobby was her huge gardens and beautiful flowers.

Mary was the last surviving member of her family. She was preceded in death by three brothers, George Waybright and wife Clara Rosalee (Webster Springs, WV), Elijah Waybright and wife Argretta (Winchester, VA), Woodrow Waybright (Aurora, WV), and twin sister Martha Catherine Waybright, also one infant daughter, Geraldine Ann Simmons, and one son Thomas Simmons and wife Patricia (Mantua, OH).

Left to cherish her memories are husband of 60 years, Ira Junior Bolyard, daughter Vesta Gank, daughter-in-law Menjil Simmons, and son Larry Simmons. Grandchildren always close by her side were Tadjana Ross (daughter Ashley) and Debbie Brammer (son Thomas). Also surviving are grandchildren Tabitha, Angela, Tracy, Timothy, David, Jennifer, Tiffany, Matthew, and Zachary and numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

At her request, Mary will be cremated. Private graveside service will be determined at a later date.

The family would like to thank Amy, Paula, Karen, Sara, and the rest of the Amedisys staff for going above and beyond in our time of need. Also thanks to the staff at Stonerise for their excellent care.
