Obituary of Donna Mae Carney

Donna Mae DeBerry Carney, 87, of Terra Alta died Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Windy Hill Manor in Kingwood. The daughter of the late Jesse L. and Sylvia Whitehair DeBerry she was born July 13, 1933 in Donna loved spending time with her husband and two grandsons. She enjoyed playing bingo, working puzzles, making homemade candy, birdwatching and square dancing. She loved her little dog Daisy. She was an active volunteer with the Terra Alta Ambulance squad for over 30 years. She drove the ambulance and enjoyed being with the squad members and helping the community any way she could. She is survived by her husband of over 69 years, James P. Carney; two children, Larry J. (Carol) Carney of Boise, Idaho and Linda S. John of Terra Alta; two grandsons, Eliot R. (Shannon) Watson of Scott Depot, WV and James William "Will" John of Terra Alta; niece, Barbara Wilkinson; nephews, Edward P. (Bettye) DeBerry, Harold (Vickie) DeBerry and Wayne DeBerry; great nieces and nephews, cousins and special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul (Frances) DeBerry and Clarence (Lucille) DeBerry; one sister Edith DeBerry (Clifford) Lyons; a niece, Walodean DeBerry and nephew, Ralph DeBerry. The family would like to offer special thanks to Steve Stewart, Steve John, Dennett Road Nursing Home, Garrett Memorial Hospital, Terra Alta Ambulance Squad, Windy Hill Manor and WV Caring.
