Obituary of Myrtle Aldeen Wagner

Myrtle Aldeen (Funk) Shaffer Wagner, 91, of Rowlesburg passed away Thursday, August 13, 2020 with her family by her side. She was born March 22, 1929 in Amboy, WV, a daughter of the late Ervin Coy Funk and Anna Pearl (Beatty) Funk. Myrtle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She worked at the Hopemont Hospital in Terra Alta. She is survived by two daughters, (Geneva) Tammy Sue Wagner of Terra Alta and Beverly Shaffer of Rowlesburg; six sons, Clarence (Junior) Shaffer and wife Debbie of Kingwood, David Shaffer and wife Stella of Bruceton Mills, Mike Shaffer and wife Nancy of Terra Alta, Raymond (Farmer Joe) Wagner, which Myrtle resided with, of Rowlesburg, Leonard (James Doughboy) Wagner and wife Sandra of Rowlesburg and Ralph Junior Wagner and wife Daphne of Reedsville; two step-sons, Johnny Shaffer and wife Beverly of Ohio and Stephen Paul Wagner of Grafton; one step-daughter, Cathy Wagner of Petersburg; two brothers; Dale Funk of Terra Alta and Fred Funk of Kingwood; one sister, Hazel McNemar of Rawlings, MD; former daughter-in-law, Mary Wagner of Rowlesburg, son-in-law, Ronald Taylor of Terra Alta; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Alfreda Nice, Inez Funk and Sarah Faye Hixenbaugh; four brothers, Ernie Funk, Raymond Funk, Prentiss Funk and Kenneth Funk; her first husband, Clarence Shaffer; second husband, Ralph Wagner; daughter, Clara Louise (Shaffer) Wiles; two grandsons, Cory Shaffer and Eddie Wiles and two great grandsons, Kirk Blythe and Jeremy Wiles. Friends may call at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta on Sunday, August 16, 2020 from 11 am until the 2 pm service time with Rev. Ray Frankhouser officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Due to COVID-19, safety precautions will be taken, the social distancing 6-foot rule will be honored and all guests, whose health allows, are to wear a mask.
