Obituary of Audry Ellsworth Sypolt
Audry E. "Todd" Sypolt,
88, of Terra Alta, died Friday June 26, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
The son of the late Mary O. Sypolt Reid and stepfather, Alex Reid, he was born December 28, 1931 on Briery Mountain.
Todd was an extremely hard worker. He started at a young age and helped his grandparents and then continued to provide for his family. He was looked up to by many. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His last words of advice to them was to "keep living and loving".
He is survived by his children: Sandy Calvert of Masontown, Pam Morgan of Sandyville, WV, Helen (Butch) Lantz of Terra Alta, Bill (Joyce) Cannon of Sandyville, WV, Brenda (Keith) Murphy of Terra Alta, Lynn (Eric) Sanders of Fredonia, KY, Sheran Redmond (Karl Myers) of Parsons, Angie Sypolt (Jeff Dillsworth) of Terra Alta, and Karen (Gene) Pyles of Kingwood; son-in-law Bob Haskiell of Terra Alta; 31 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lou Hallas of Ambridge, PA and Patty (John) Martins of Vero Beach, FL; one brother, Jim Sypolt of Masontown and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth R. "Betty" Sypolt; two sons, Clifford A. Sypolt and Greggory Sypolt; daughter, Nancy P. Haskell; son-in-law, Steve Morgan; daughter-in-law, Elaine Sypolt; great granddaughter, Megan R. Lantz; a great great grandson, Brian Haskiell; and a sister, Shirley Grguric.
Family and friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta on Sunday evening from 5-7:00 for a walk thru and from 11:00 Monday, June 29, 2020 until the 12:00 noon time of service with Rev. Larry A. Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19, safety precautions will be taken, and social distancing will be honored, and all guests should wear a mask. For the safety of everyone, we politely ask that visitors do not linger at the funeral home after seeing the Sypolt family.
There will be a gathering at Todd's house following the funeral service on Monday and everyone is welcome.
