Obituary of Harris Glenden Britton

Harris Glenden Britton, born January 4, 1934 in Green Valley, died Sunday December 23, 2018. He was the last surviving child of Harris W. and Bertha (Cathell) Britton. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edna (Taylor) Britton; three daughters, Kathryn (Bill) Burns, Rowena (Clyde) Mersing and Janice (John) Feather; one son, Kevin (Josie) Britton; grandchildren, Justin Burns, Josh (Jaime) Burns, Matt (Jessie) Burns, Vanessa (Josh) White, Jana (Brian) Hammerle, Jessie Mersing, Jamie Mersing, Andrew Mersing, Dana (Adam) McCormick, Bobby Britton, Brooke Britton, and Wade Britton; great grandchildren, Zack, Aaron, Alex, Jacob, Caleb, Maddie, Masen, McKenna, Claire, Nora, JJ (Stephanie), Ben, Trenton, and Eden and a great great granddaughter, Maeryn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters, Elda (David) Courtney, Gladys (Foster) Funk, Carrie (Lawrence) Goff, Roy (Mertie/ Julia) Britton, Jim (Evelyn) Britton, Merle (Phillip) Lowe, Doug (Marie) Britton, Georgia (Jack) Fisher, Hazel (Rev. Edgar) Suite, and infants, Elbert and Delbert Britton; grandson, Willie Feather and a son in law Clyde Mersing. Friends may call at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta on Wednesday December 26, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday December 27, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service time with Pastor Kevin Keplinger officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Saltlick Rd. in Terra Alta. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to your charity of choice.
