Charles Alfred Moore, 75, of Terra Alta, left this world to meet his heavenly Father on June 24, 2026.

He was born in Oakland, MD on June 24, 1951, to Alfred Moore and Edith "Dottie" (Rollyson) Moore.

"Crooked Charlie" worked for Shaffer Ford Sales for 42 years and truly valued the friendships built there. After retiring, he field-stoned his home and enjoyed spending time with family and serving the community he loved. He became an active member of the Whitedale Brethren Church, as well as promoting the mission of sharing the Word of God by serving as a Gideon. When he was not helping others, he also spent many happy hours in the woods, as a lifelong bow hunter and fly fisherman.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Alice; along with his children, Andrea Sutyak (Mark) and Matthew Moore (Charity); grandchildren, DJ and Lauren Sutyak, Lilly, Marion, and Ezra Moore; and his near and dear friends, Steve Stewart and Mark Sturgill along with many other lifetime friends.

Charlie was preceded in death by several siblings along with dear friends, Grant Felton and Terry Delauder.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any of the causes he worked so tirelessly to support – the Gideons, the Terra Alta Ambulance Squad, Brookside Helping Hands, or Whitedale Brethren Church.

Friends may call at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 2 pm to 6 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the funeral home with Stanley Waybright officiating. To honor Charlie's wishes cremation will follow.
