Clarence Junior Knotts, 95, formerly of Lantz Ridge, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland, MD.

He was born on May 19, 1931, in Rowlesburg, WV, a son of the late Clarence W. Knotts and Essie G. (Strawser) Knotts.

Clarence proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a carpenter for Beachy Lumber Company for over 20 years and retired from there. Clarence was a member of the Maple Grove Assembly of God in Horseshoe Run. He enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, fishing, and singing in a quartet with his brothers.

He is survived by his children, Louise M. Upole, Richard C. Knotts and wife, Connie, Anita G. Moats and husband, Tom, and Hope Roth and husband, Gomer; three grandchildren, Kelly, Amy and partner, Nathan Gageby, and Lisa; two great grandchildren, Lily and husband, Jordan Watson, and Jennaya, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Clarence is preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Alma Louise (Crosier) Knotts, whom he reunited with in heaven after a short five weeks a part. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Don Upole and six older siblings as he was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Friends may call at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta, WV, on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 1:30pm until the 3:00pm time of service with Pastor Jim Mou officiating and Pastor Mike Lantz assisting. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Aurora, WV. Military honors will be conducted by the WVANG Honor Guard.
