Diantha "Diane" D. Metheny Wolfe, 78, of Terra Alta (Gregg's Knob Community), passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, at home with her beloved dog Duke by her side.

She was born April 2, 1948, in Kingwood, WV, a daughter of the late Lloyd Webster Metheny and Lesta Mabel (Sisler) Metheny.

Diane is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, John W. Wolfe, brother, Harold Metheny, and long-time friend, Joyce Divers.

Diane is survived by her brother-in-law, Robert Wolfe, long-time friend, Mianna Jopp, and many extended family members and friends. A special thank you is extended to her cousin, Jim and Dianne Sisler, for their wonderful care.

Starting in 1962, Diane worked for the Federal Government for 23 years, Deep Creek Lake/Garrett County Promotion Council for 14 years, and most favored was her 21 years at Chico Enterprises. In her later years, she was a receptionist for Carrie See Insurance, Oakland Nursing and Rehab, then finishing her career at Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.

Diane and John enjoyed traveling to several locations across the United States and many State Parks. She enjoyed reading Louis L'Amour and other Western genres and studying local and family history.

Family and friends may call at Faith Church, 6639 Cranesville Road, Terra Alta, WV 26764, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 1:00 pm until the 3:00 pm time of service with Pastor Mike Saturday officiating. Interment will follow at the Miller Cemetery at Hoye Run, Cranesville, WV.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Diane's memory to Amedisys Hospice.
