It is with a heavy heart that the family announces the passing of Gary Lynn Grimm, Jr., 60, of Terra Alta, WV, on February 14, 2026, at his home with family by his side.

He was born on September 14, 1965, in Oakland, MD, a son of Wanda Jane (Layton) Hardesty and the late Gary Lynn Grimm, Sr.

Gary was a loving husband, father, brother, nephew, friend, and most importantly an amazing Pappy. He was known for being a hard worker who put his family first and foremost. He loved being around friends and family; often telling stories, listening to music, and enjoying a cold beverage rather it be on the beach, his basement, or at the local PO2 Bar and Kitchen.

In addition to his mother, Gary is survived by his loving wife, Melisa Grimm; son, Joshua Grimm and wife, Julia; daughter, Megan Grimm; grandchildren, Everhett Orellana, Ava Grimm, and Ella Grimm, and many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

In addition to his father, Gary is preceded in death by his stepfather, Geno Hardesty, grandmother, Ethel Layton, and many aunts and uncles.

To honor his wishes, Gary will be cremated. The Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home of Terra Alta, WV, will provide professional and compassionate cremation services. A celebration of life will be held on a later date.
