Obituary of Patricia Joan Teets

Joan Ashby Teets, 92, of Terra Alta, WV, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Garrett Regional Medical Center in Oakland, MD.

Born February 25, 1933, in Terra Alta, WV, she was the daughter of the late Glenn Stephen Ashby and Mabel Irene (White) Ashby.

Joan was the bookkeeper and secretary for Teets Equipment Company where she and her husband sold sawmill equipment and parts. She was a Godly woman who faithfully attended and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, in Terra Alta. Joan took great pride in raising her sons, getting them both through college and keeping them on the right track, and caring for her family.

She is survived by two sons, William “Bill” Teets, Jr. and wife, Lisa of Bruceton Mills, WV, and Thomas Teets of Arthurdale, WV; four grandchildren, Thomas Teets and wife, Lindsey, Travis Teets, Mikayla Teets, and Christian Teets, and two great-grandchildren, Bella and Treyton.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, William K. Teets, Sr. and a daughter-in-law, Brenda Teets.

According to her wishes, the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta, WV, will provide compassionate and professional cremation services. A memorial service will be held on a later date.
