Obituary of Gerald Wellington Wildesen
(Do not delete this line. It does not print. Text that is to appear on web must be entered after this line)«Gerald Wellington Wildesen, 78, of Mountain Lake Park, MD, passed away peacefully Monday, November 10, 2025, at Kingwood Healthcare Center in Kingwood, WV.
He was born on February 15, 1947, in Swanton, MD, a son of the late Harley Marshall Wildesen and Betty Jane (Bray) Wildesen.
Gerald was a 1965 graduate of Southern Garrett High School and later a graduate from Garrett County Community College. He proudly served his country in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany from 1966-1969. After being discharged, Gerald worked as an inspector for the Maryland State Highway Administration. He was a member of the Oakland Church of Christ. Gerald enjoyed watching all kinds of birds, often having many feeders in his yard. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family whether it was having big meals, swimming in the pool, or just a short visit.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sheila Louise (Warnick) Wildesen; two sons, David Wildesen and wife, Jessica and Darrin Wildesen; one granddaughter, Harleigh Wildesen; one grandson, Damin Wildesen; twin brother, Harold F. Wildesen and wife Chris; brother, Darrell Wildesen, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gerald is preceded in death by a brother, Richard “Rick” Wildesen.
To honor his wishes, there will be no public services. The Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta, WV, will provide professional and compassionate cremation services. Inurnment will take place on a later date at Garrett Memorial Gardens in Oakland, MD.
