Obituary of David Richard Sines Sr.

David Richard Sines, Sr., 81, of Terra Alta, WV, peacefully passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Kingwood Healthcare with his loving wife and children by his side. He was born April 7, 1943, in Terra Alta, WV, the son of the late Harry Richard and Virginia Ruth (Howell) Sines. David married the love of his life on September 7, 1963, in Crellin, MD. He was a very hard worker. He built his own home in 1977. He was employed as the parts manager at Preston Motors from 1968-1977, then worked at J&J Ford from 1977-1984, and lastly at Les Car Trucking from 1985 until his retirement at 63 years old in 2006. After retirement, he kept doing what he loved and had a small engine repair shop at his home. David enjoyed hunting and looking at lighthouses. He was Methodist by faith attending the Trinity United Methodist Church in Terra Alta. David loved his whole family, he was a good husband, father, and brother. David was a great man, who will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan Louise (Thomas) Sines; son, David Richard Sines, Jr. and wife, Christi; daughter, Tracie Ruth Kekic and husband, Jerry; sister Diana R. Golliday and husband, Bob, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Garfield Sines and James Arthur Sines, Sr. Friends may call at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 1002 E State Ave, Terra Alta, WV 26764, on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 1:00pm until the 3:00pm time of service with Pastor Eric Beeman officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's memory can be made to Amedisys Hospice, 5006 Mid Atlantic Drive, Morgantown, WV 26508.
