Obituary of Robert Matthew Teter

Robert Matthew Teter, 58, of Terra Alta, WV, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025, at home.

He was born on March 16, 1966, in Kingwood, WV, a son of the latte Floyd Edward Teter, Sr. and Mary Lee (Tasker) Teter.

Robert's favorite job was working with Veterans to schedule appointments. He also worked as a manager for McDonald's and did odd jobs around the home. Robert faithfully watched Jimmy Swaggert every Sunday and Wednesday.

He is survived by his loving wife, Odette Teter; stepdaughters, Leigh Talley and husband, Kris, and Kandi Poston and fiancé, Shane Songe; five grandchildren, Ryleigh and Kamryn Thiel, Annabelle Talley, and Chance and Jayden Songe; brother, Floyd Teter, Jr. and wife, Karron; nephews, Sammy Pifer and wife, Iva, Floyd Teter III, Travis Sypolt, Rusty Sypolt; nieces, Clorinda Teter, Kaleena Moats and husband, Dayton, Sara Roberts, Elizabeth Sypolt; great nieces and nephews, Rachel Hardesty, Cody Roberts, Chelsea Roberts and fiancé, Anthony Parsons, Travis Sypolt, Robert Sypolt, and Autumn Sypolt; two special nieces, Juanita Stanley and Alycia Jones and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.

To honor his wishes, Robert will be cremated. Professional and compassionate cremation services will be provided by the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home.

A memorial service to honor Robert's memory will be held at the Terra Alta Community Ambulance Building, 1124 E State Avenue, Terra Alta, WV 26764, on Saturday March 29, 2025 at 2:00 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made out and sent to the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, 105 Highland Ave, Terra Alta, WV 26764, to help the family with Robert's funeral expenses.
