Elmer Clarence Wolfe Sr., 89, of Terra Alta, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood. He was born March 28, 1931 in Cranesville, a son of the late Lewis Whetsell Wolfe and Lova Bertha (Wilhelm) Wolfe. Elmer began his working career in Ohio, having worked at the match factory and the E.J. Manufacturing plant. After moving back to WV he worked for the Carpenters Union Local #379 in Morgantown. Elmer was a "hands on" guy and he loved tinkering with small engines and anything mechanical. He loved the outdoors, especially taking walks, watching deer and birds and chopping wood. He was very proud of his gardening skills, which included grafting trees and caring for his blueberry bushes. He spent countless hours reading novels of all types but most of all he loved spending time with his family and sharing his "famous" peanut butter candy. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Rosetta M. Liston Wolfe; five daughters, Joann Miller and husband John of Bruceton Mills, Beverly Wolfe Liston of Kingwood, Dianne Shriver and husband Mark of Winchester, VA, Annette Sidebottom and husband Eddie of Tunnelton and Cathy Williams and husband Doug of Tunnelton; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Elmer C. Wolfe Jr. and Jeffery A. Wolfe; three daughters, Sandra J. Wolfe, Deloris J. Wolfe and Rosemary Y. Wolfe; two brothers, Charles Wolfe and Boyd Wolfe; three sisters, Dorothy Freeland, Rosalie Reckart and Virginia Reckart; his dog, Levi and his cockatiel birds. Friends may call at the Arthur H.
